The Seven Rays of Light
The Seven Rays is an occult concept that has appeared in several religions and esoteric philosophies since at least the 6th century BC, in both Western culture and in India. In the West, it can be seen in early western mystery traditions such as Gnosticism and the Roman Mithraic Mysteries; and in texts and the art of the Catholic Church as early as the Byzantine Empire.
Some schools of thought teach that each ray is linked with one of the Seven Pure Spirits (Angels) who stand before the Throne of Grace in the book of Revelation.
The Seven Rays are transmitted from the Solar Logos through the Logos of our planet, Sanat Kumara, then through the spiritual hierarchy of our planet which includes the "Masters of Wisdom". As a result we are all deeply effected by the power of the Rays and can use the inherent qualities of our own personal ray for healing and manifestation.
There are various ways to connect to the energy of the Seven Rays, from having direct Initiation into the power of the Seven Rays to meditative practices such as the Rosary of the Seven Rays. Local to me here in Hampshire I know of at least one person who is promoting the use of the Rosary of Our Lady of the Seven Rays and personally I use this approach in my spiritual life.
Although it is not a spiritual practice within Tera-Mai™, I find that meditating upon the qualities and powers of the rays gives me a sense of spiritual well-being which I rarely find elsewhere and so feel it is appropriate to mention it here.
The eminent Clairvoyant and Theosophist C.W. Leadbeater gave a list showing the characteristic type of magic for each ray. This list indicates what he regarded as the most compatible type of magic to be performed by persons on each ray (although anyone of any ray can do any of these various types of magic).
